Johnny Manziel Traded To Washington
Good morning Cleveland! It finally happened! Johnny Manziel was traded to Washington last week. He was into his 4th season here at QB and while he led us to winning owner Chris Bigtex expressed earlier in the year that if things didn't improve quickly that moves would be made. He has lived up to that promise. The first trade of the year he sent Joe Haden to Los Angeles. While there was nothing wrong with Haden, we have depth at the position. It gave K'Waun his chance to finally step up as #1. For Haden, the Browns received a 1st and 4th round pick in the upcoming draft, and TJ Carrie. TJ Carrie plays #2 on the other side of Williams. Carrie has played decent. Not an allstar by any means but decent. He will be a solid #2. Last week he made a huge tackle on third down short of the 1st, and this week vs the Packers he made a big play on a ball that tipped it up and allowed Antone Exum to intercept it to seal the game.
If Carrie keeps this up then we will definitely feel we got our value's worth for Haden. The next move that was done was to bring Hundley in from the Packers. Hundley is a 24 year old who has just been sitting on the bench. He was originally brought in to try and motivate Johnny and play backup but was a definite threat to his job. The Browns traded a third round pick for Hundley. To free up a spot on the roster, they had to release Mike Glennon. Hundley IMPRESSED in his first game, but we'll get to that later.
HUNDLEY IMPRESSES
EVERYBODY PLEASE WELCOME BRETT HUNDLEY!!! The 24 year old 6'3 226 pound quarterback from UCLA! After Johnny was traded, Hundley was immediately the man. We spent the whole couple days on learning the playbook, and then set him free vs the Packers. After game 1, it looks like it was the right move. Hundley went 13/20 256 Yards 4 TD and 0 INT. That led him to an NFL leading QBR of 147.9. What makes the story special also is he did all of this vs the team that just traded him. He had a lot of pent up energy from 2 years of sitting on the bench and he unleashed it all today. Let's hope this momentum continues and Hundley is indeed finally the savior here in Cleveland!! At the post game press conference he told us he was happy to be here and happy to finally get his shot, you could definitely see that on the field too. He played with a lot of swagger last week! The Browns are now 3-3 going into the bye week with the division still up for grabs! We'll keep you updated Browns fans, and we'll get the week highlight video cut up for you soon! Thanks for staying loyal!!! Lastly, while Johnny is no longer the face of the franchise, your Browns have a new official Twitter page! Please Follow them @PX1Browns!
