Beginning with the start of season six (the upcoming season which is also our 10th overall), we will no longer allow the use of the kick aiming arc during league games. Please go to franchise > options > and set kick aiming arc to OFF.
The reason for this change is two fold A. we thought field goal conversion were a little too high across the board. We also did not feel it was realistic to line up for a FG and then see you could not make it, take a timeout and punt. B. more importantly, we thought it was far too easy to punt the ball out of bounds inside the 10 yard line. It is not nearly that easy in real life.
We anticipate this will be difficult for some users to adjust to. However, we believe this is a necessary adjustment as we strive for complete realism in our leagues. This will make acquiring punters and kickers with good accuracy as important as those with great legs. We also recommend going into practice mode and getting used to kicking without the arc.
Everyone should go into their league settings and change this immediately. We will give you a one-time pass if you do not do this for some reason but only for ONE preseason game. If you fail to turn it off after being notified about it in the preseason or are seen using it in the regular season the penalties will be as follows:
1st offense: 2-game suspension (two CPU games simmed to a loss if possible, on auto for up to two user games with that user getting the option to sim themselves to a win if CPU is not an option.)
2nd offense: Removal from league.
We appreciate you guys adhering to this and helping us out by changing this ASAP.
