After a long drawn out negotiation process, San Diego today confirmed that British Tycoon Carl Kendrick had led an consortium in successfully purchasing the team.

Mr Kendrick who earnt his fortune through a number of High St Sports Stores, was hoping to have the deal done before the pre-season, but due to a number of prerequisites demands from the League Organisation and the existing Fan Base, it took longer than anticipated.

Mr Kendrick has vowed not to make any sweeping changes to the existing Coaching staff, especially after an opening 21-20 win against the Chiefs, however he has set an fairly ambitious target of Playoff football and will support his coaching team to achieve this goal, but will also not be afraid to bring in new staff, if the need is required.

Mr Kendrick is currently in the UK, but we expect him to be in San Diego tommorrow for a full media statement

The Chargers have made a lot of moves in Week 3. Most notably, the organization was sold to new owner Black Panda. Mr.Panda seems to have high expectations for this team moving forward stating "This team has been competitive over the years but I plan to make us Champions in the near future". He has really put the spot light on an organization he has barely gotten to analyze fully, but those key words "in the near future" make the difference in the amount of heat he will take if this team falls short of the playoffs. I offer a few choice words for Mr.Panda. There is nothing wrong with setting the bar high, just be sure you can deliver on your promise.

Charged Up

Your San Diego Chargers put on a show on Defense forcing 5 turnovers against the Colts. Early in the first quarter, HB Melvin Gordon and QB Phillip Rivers struggled to get anything going ending the drive with a 3 and out. On the next drive Rivers got things moving completing some intermediate passes hoping to open the run game up for Gordon. Next, the unthinkable happens. Melvin Gordon goes down with a shoulder injury. Now the offense is without our starting running back and our starting receivers in Travis Benjamin and Kennan Allen. Talk about things not going your way. We were able to put points on the board regardless. Rivers connected with Antonio Gates on a short 4 yard TD catch. In second quarter, Danny Woodhead began what turned out to be a big day as he ran in a short yardage TD. He would later catch a screen pass for a 43 yard TD making two defender miss in the process. The chargers showed a lot of promise in their game against the Colts. If this defense can continue to cause turnovers, they may be able to secure the throne in their division and maybe beyond.
