Falcons are fueled by strong 2nd half defense, earn another tough win

Falcons beat Vikings 27-17
Atlanta continues to win in every which way possible. At home, Atlanta fell behind early before outscoring Minnesota 17-3 in the second half. The falcons entered halfway worried. They drove the ball all the way down to the 1 of Minnesota and elected to try to punch it in with coleman-- he was stuffed and the scoreboard read 14-10. It was a fantastic first half performance from the vikings as they kept nearly everything in check from Atlanta, but 2 errors from Bridgewater would make it very difficult for the vikings to keep up. After claiming a FG to make it 17-10, teddy threw a pick to Jalen Collins and the falcons capitalized. On the next offensive series, Bridgewater once more threw a pick to Collins. Atlanta took a lead and added a late FG to solidify the victory. Coleman truly exploded with 188 rushing yards off of 19 attempts and putting the ball across the goaline twice. Matt Ryan had a good, but not great day. An interesting side note: Julio Jones has faced elite corners twice in a row (vontae davis, Xavier rhodes) and been shut down twice. While Leonard Hankerson has stepped up admirably, JJ must return to prime form for Atlanta to be an offensive powerhouse again. These past two weeks, they've sputtered on many drives and it is directly linked to Julio's lack of productivity. Atlanta now enters the toughest part of their schedule as 4 of their 5 final games are divisional ones. This stretch will decide their fate for Quinn's rookie season. Is this truly a different team from the one under mike smith? It's make or break. Rise up.
