The Chicago Cubs and the Kansas City Royals have agreed to a trade.

The Cubs send:
SP Dicky Gonzalez (5yr/75mil after 2004 season)

The Royals Trade:
SP Ted Lilly (1yr/18.5)

SP Bobby Brownlie

Cubs Finances:

SP Dicky Gonzalez signed a 5/75mil contract mid season to take affect in 2005. This allows the Cubs to absorb Lillys contract.

The Cubs get two ready SPs and the Royals get a young SP and a prospect in Butler.

Royals agree & this trade really helps us get a few million to work with in FA to fill the holes the led to us getting swept in the first round this year.
