That's right! Coach Bubba Gump, who splashed onto the college football scene 3 years ago, has moved out of Vegas. Head Coach at UNLV he did some great things. He brought UNLV 2 Las Vegas Bowl wins, 1 Conference Championship, a winning record through 3 years, and had 1 Heisman winner under him. ASU who went 2-10 last year fired their coach, and offered Coach Gump the new Head Coach slot, and after much consideration, and weighing all of his options, he decided to take the ASU job. He's going to need to do alot of the same here at ASU as he did at UNLV. They are a young struggling team. He'll have to motivate, and progress guys, bring in some heavy recruits, but most of all he'll need to WIN games.
He will have UCLA in his conference this year who is the defending national champion. When asked how he felt about that he said, no doubt UCLA is a strong led team, but Coach Rausa does not bother me at all! This is one rivalry the nation will definatley keep an eye on. Coach Gump also said that he's excited for the change of scenery and the new opportunity, he doesn't expect to be a contender right away, after a few seasons and some work, watch out for ASU!
