A win is what the Browns needed this week and a win is exactly what they got. A week after traveling to Century Link field and suffering a heartbreaking loss the Browns left Arrowhead Stadium silent. Both teams at 8-6 needed a win to move up in the Wild Card and it looks as if the Browns will control their own destiny headed in to the final week of the season. At 9-6 only their 3rd winning season since their reemergence in 1999 the Browns dream of making the playoffs might just become reality.
Browns vs Chiefs Week 16 Box Score.
Zach Mettenberger had quite the performance yet again. He completed 14 0f 24 passes for 156 yards and 2 TD's. He also uncharacteristically got down and dirty and rushed for a touchdown in the trenches. Zach has had quite the start to his Cleveland career. He is in the driver seat. His play will determine how deep of a run this team makes.
Dwayne Bowe found himself in familiar yet unfamiliar territory. He returned to the stadium he has called home for his entire career. The only difference this time he was wearing Brown and Orange. Dwayne Bowe hauled in 6 receptions 78 yards. He looked very emotional after the game. "I'm happy in Cleveland but I would be lying if I said Kansas City didn't own a place of my heart." Is Dwayne Bowe home sick? "No. I'm not going anywhere. I'm in for the long haul."
Rob Housler only had 3 receptions this game but 2 of them went for touchdowns. Housler is becoming a household name in Cleveland. He has found himself a role in this offense and it doesn't look like he will be replaced anytime soon. One of Mettenberger's favorite targets this season look for Housler to go as far as his body will carry him.
Barkevious Mingo lead the way for this defense this week. 5 tackles, 1 sack and a safety. The former 1st round pick is starting to live up to the high expectations.
Karlos Dansby you're ridiculous. 5 tackles and 2 int. Dansby is like a fine wine. He only gets better with age.
Joe Haden hauled in his 8th interception of the season. A career high for him. Look for Joe to be making the trip to the pro bowl this year.
One of the oldest rivalries in the NFL get renewed this week as Cleveland has playoff dreams on the line as Pittsburgh rules into town. These two teams met in week 10 and Pittsburgh escaped with the thrilling finish 30-29. Pittsburgh is in. Cleveland needs to win to get in. Could these two teams possibly faceoff for a third time next week? A Cleveland win and that just might happen.
