Trade logic: The Jets are committed to Geno Smith for the remainder of this season and are looking for a better alternative with likely a high draft pick in this year's draft. Petty was an early 4th wound pick and my 3rd will likely be late. However, as we've seen, a late 3rd can be a high 70's OVR player. Probably not a quality QB left at that point though. The 6th is to help offset the fact that he will likely get a quality player in the 3rd while I will have to develop petty for at least half a season to get him up to the level of what I could likely get in the 3rd.
