The Raiders defense kept the run game in check against the Broncos, allowing only 35 yards rushing. Our pass defense was pretty solid as well allowing less than 230 yards passing. We were only able to sack the QB 2 times ( K.Mack/A.Smith) but the defense had a lot of QB hurries and pressures. The Raiders defense has been very reliable. It was the highlight of the pre-season and continues to be a highlight week after week. On offense, our quarterback "Sterling Silver" (Sterling Patrick) threw for a modest 198 yards on 14 completions. He was able to connect with WR Amari Cooper on a deep fade route for a 27 yard circus catch TD. The thing that made this catch so miraculous was that the circus catch was over the esteemed DB Chris Harris Jr. Cooper showed us that he is an elite WR in todays game and he can go up with the best of them. "Sterling Silver" also connected with Denolious Hatcher for a 19 yard TD. One thing our offense needs to work on is getting our running backs the ball a little more. We have some of the most talented HB's in the game and if we run the ball a little more, it could open up even more in the pass game. Speaking of great HB's, our 3rd down HB ,Jeff Demps, showed off his explosiveness with a 57 yard run-after-catch on a screen. He burned the Broncos D on a crucial 3rd down and set up our offense for the score. I believe that if Demps can get a solid 7-10 touches a game, he can be the spark this team was missing. Let's see what Head Coach Jack Del Rio decides to do moving forward. Knowing GM Kelly, Jack has already been told the exact same thing, being that Demps was one of Kelly's special pick ups during the off-season.
