Broncos 2018 Season Preview

After a nice run in 2017 the Broncos look to improve and get better. While the hearts of Bronco fans were broken when they lost to the Texans in the divisional round of the playoffs there was much to celebrate. The team finished 13-3 tied for the best record in the AFC and won a playoff game. After a solid off season they are ready to hit the field and prove that last year wasn't a fluke.

Offense
Key Additions: QB Josh Allen, TE Jimmy Graham, WR Cedrick Wilson

Overview: Last year QB was a point of concern going into the season and didn't get better through out. We went out and Drafted Josh Allen at pick 13 and are very happy with how he as progressed and the talent he has shown in practice and preseason. The plan is to ease him into the offense and mid way through the year have him be able to run the full playbook. He will be the week one starter with last years rookie Chad Kelly backing him up. The biggest name picked up on either side of the ball is TE Jimmy Graham. While he isn't as young as he use to be he will still be a pick target and safety blanket for the rookie Allen. He will have a big impact on the offense both blocking and catching. The other big pick up was WR Wilson from BSU. He is a raw talent but has done well in preseason and practice. He will serve as the 3rd WR to start the year with a chance to move up to 2 and move Sanders to the slot.

Defense
Key Additions: OLB Oren Burks, OLB Lorenzo Carter, DT Derrick Nnadi, RE Rasheem Green

Overview: While all the key additions are rookies we think they all will be able to step in and make a major impact on the defensive side of the ball. Burks will be the starting ROLB with Carter seeing time at both OLBs and some MLB. Nnadi will be slotted as the second DT in the 4 3 defense with Green playing a bit of everything on the dline. With us switching to the 43 Von Miller will be moved to DE along with Shane Ray. Barrett and Marshall will stay put. DBs will be the same score as last year with Kareem Jackson coming in from free agency. He will play nickle and dime mostly giving Roby a breather. We were one of the top rated defenses last year and look to keep up that trend.

Overall i think the team is set to do pretty well again this year 13-3 will be a tough road to get back to 11-5 12-4 is a bit more realistic this year but 13-3 isnt out of the question if we can catch fire at the right time. This team is set for a deep run in the playoffs and our defense will be the reason. Cant wait for another amazing year!!!
