PASADENA, Calif. --- The UCLA Bruins football season started off slow, peaked late in the season and then ended on a disappointing low. The Bruins were appeared rusty after their nearly two months off between games and dropped a heart breaker to Michigan 41-35.

UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley, the backbone of the team most of the season, had by far his worst performance of the season throwing four interceptions. Hundley did throw for 311 yards and accounted for five touchdowns (four passing and one rushing) but ultimately the turnovers did his team in.

Michigan, on the other hand, looked fresh and explosive in the game. The Wolverine defensive backs were all over the field swarming UCLA defenders all afternoon. Offensively, Michigan dominated the Bruins on the line of scrimmage allowing running back Derrick Green to pile up 174 rushing yards on 20 carries and two TDs.

This certainly wasn't the way the Bruins wanted to end their season. After starting 1-2, UCLA reeled off 10-straight wins including the team's first PAC-12 Championship since 1998. The Bruins came into the game ranked #3 in the BCS poll and #2 in the AP poll. They were hoping that, with a win over Michigan and a Texas A&M win in the BCS National Championship game, they could earn a split national title. However, they will go home with only a PAC-12 title to comfort them and dream about what could have been. And then prepare to do it all over again next year.
