Bear Down! Week 13 49ers @ Bears

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - A game that is widely in favor of the Bears. The Bears enter this game riding a 4 game winning streak. They are currently in the 5th seeded spot, as their previous victories have earned them the right to play in the playoffs. The Bears who enter the game at 7-4, look to take advantage of NFC West last place team the San Francisco 49ers.

Great start for the Bears as Colin Kaepernick throws an interception to cornerback Alan Ball. The Bears are setup at the 49ers 36 yard line and look to capitalize. After a Glen Dorsey sack, Jay Cutler finds Matt Forte out of the backfield for an 18 yard completion. Inside the redzone the Bears have been great all year. After a couple running plays to Matt Forte that gave them ball at the 5, Cutler finds Alshon Jeffery for a touchdown. 49ers are forced into a 3 and out after a 2 sacks from Pernell McPhee, that left them with a 3rd and 27 to convert. Jacquizz Rodgers sets the Bears up after a nice punt return at their own 47 yard line. With the good field position Bears go to Matt Forte the majority of the drive. A screen play put the bears at the 5 yard line and Matt Forte took a toss for a touchdown.

49ers did not go quietly as Carlos Hyde was running all over the place. A 25+ yard run had put the 49ers in Bears territory. a 3rd and 7 pass to Torrey Smith put the 49ers at the 5 yard line and Carlos Hyde punched it in 2 plays later. When the Bears got the ball back, a completion to Alshon Jeffery for 22 yards put the Bears near midfield. A couple of running plays allowed the Bears to get inside 49ers territory. The next play, Cutler hits Kevin White over the middle for a 37 yard touchdown pass. Bears lead 21-7. 49ers got close to midfield but were forced to punt after Carlos Hyde was stopped in the backfield. Cutler looking sharp on the drive connects with Eddie Royal for a big gain and Alshon Jeffery for 15+ yards. Cutler takes a shot to the endzone but is picked off. 49ers with under 2 minutes in the first half try to go and get points. Kaepernick not looking throws an interception to Shea McClellin. Bears get the ball at the 22 yard line. Cutler scrambled for 14 yards to give the Bears the ball at the 8 yard line. 49ers defense holds the Bears out the endzone and they have to settle for 3. 49ers took advantage of lax defense from the Bears and get all the way to the 1 yard line. Time not being on their side forced them to kick a field goal. 24-10 Bears lead at halftime.

Second half was slow for the Bears as they tried to milk the clock and go ahead and get out with the victory. They get a field goal from Robbie Gould that gives them a 27-10 lead over the 49ers. 49ers drive in the 4th quarter and score making it a 27-17 ball game. Bears drive the field with a big completion to Martellus Bennett. 49ers defense holds again as Robbie Gould kicks another field goal, making it 30-17 Bears. Kaepernick trying to lead comeback fails, as he is picked off for the 3rd time of the day. It seals the game and the Bears win streak is now at 5. Bears are 8-4 and looking forward to keeping a playoff spot with their record improving to 8-4. BEAR DOWN!
