14 Yankees - White Sox (CPU) Trade - APPROVED

The New York Yankees have agreed to trade RP Carter Capps and LF Jeremy Hermida to the Chicago White Sox for RF Giancarlo Stanton. Capps has been hot and cold for the Yankees, who already have their closer in Ken Giles, and the Yankees believe a fresh start could be the thing that gets Capps to find his groove. Capps also provides a very complete arm for Chicago's bullpen that they can build around. They also agree to send LF Jeremy Hermida who is on a very team friendly contract that expires after this year. Hermida, who is mainly known for his defense, was a reliable bat when the Yankees needed him but they weren't content with the production out of him. Also by sending Hermida, the White Sox are not left with a hole in the lineup or forced to call up a prospect who might not be ready yet.

The Yankees look to pick up Stanton for his powerful bat and reliable defense. While only hitting 17 home runs last season after hitting 30 the year before, that 17 would still have been the 3rd most on the Yankees who are a team that really only have 2 hitters known for their power. Also with Stanton coming over, the Yankees can slide their current outfield superstar Scott Schebler over to LF where he feels a little more comfortable. Picking up Stanton would get him out of a situation he is currently not a fan of.
