The Tigers have an overload at OF, especially after the Rule V draft, and are sending OF Chip Ambres over to the Brewers while retaining 15% of his contract. Ambres wants to play somewhere every day instead of being a platoon bat, and we are open to giving him a shot to play full time like his talent deserves to. The Brewers are sending back C Iker Franco, who will fill the void at backup catcher for the Tigers to give Mike Zunino a season or two to develop in AAA before taking over that role. The Tigers are also sending SP JP Howell, as the Brewers asked for him to be included as part of the deal after having 2 dominant AA seasons, as a throw in piece (They said yes to the trade without him originally on the shop player page, then when I went to the trade they changed to let me think about it and he showed up as an option in make this work now).
