The Tigers, a team strapped for cash looking to get younger, sheds salary by trading two of their top players for minor league contracts and a brighter future.

The Orioles, looking to get pieces to win now and to fill their league ranked 3rd place budget, trade for a top closer and an all-star 3B in his prime with gold glove potential.

Trade has been discussed between the two GMs and is now awaiting approval

Baltimore here: I'm in for this trade

I would also be eating as much of Mike Henneman's salary as it takes to make the trade work budget wise. Shouldn't be too much.

That should be defined ahead of time. You guys need to digress our the salaries and how much is needed and being sent. Are you retaining salary, sending cash, etc? Update the original post when you get that figured out.

Unable to update the original post, but...

Tigers retain 600k of Mike Henneman's contract to fit bugetary restrictions.

My initial thought is that Detroit is giving up too much. But if you take it as Fryman for Ponson then it’s 2 2* MiLers for an aging closer in a contract year. I agree it’s close enough.
