The midway point of the season is quickly settling in and the Eagles have not been able to play to their potential yet. playoff hopes are slowly but surely circling the drain at this point in the season. Originally the Eagles planned to have a formidable two headed back in Mccaffrey and Blount but so far Blount has struggled to stay healthy this season. one bright spot so far from this unfortunate situation is Donnell Pumphrey stepping up as the 2nd back and showing some homerun ability.
In their week 4 matchup against the Colts, the Eagles seemed to be taking two steps back everytime they took a step forward, Mccaffrey accounted for 128 yards and two scores on 15 carries in a 1 point loss that was aided heavily by early turnovers (2 fumbles from Mccaffrey)
QB Carson Wentz hasent been without his own struggles so far this season, 4td and 4 interceptions at this point in the season. talks of Barkley practicing with the 1s a bit more have surfaced. Wentz will have a bit more pressure on him then he usually does at this point of the season, not only playoff hopes on the line.
The NFC East so far doesent have a clear cut division favorite at the moment but the Eagles have alot to do immediately if they want to turn their season into a good one.
