2017 is in the rear view and 2018 is upon us. It would appear as though this organization has been trying to rebuild for quite some time. Memories of Jim Kelly leading the K-Gun attack to Conference Championship after Conference Championship seem like a small lifetime ago. That's what I like best about this time of the year - everyone has hope; whether its a special player on offense like Shady McCoy or a game changer on Defense like Malcolm Butler, these Bills certainly have a puncher's chance at the Postseason and dare I say it...the Division, a crown seemingly monopolized by the Patriots for far too long. So...without further ado, I give to you our Season Preview for Two Thousand Eighteen!!

Offense
Key Additions: Christian Kirk, WR; Josh Adams, RB; Mark Andrews, TE; Charcandrick West, RB; Sam Darnold, QB

Overview:

An Offense that returns all 5 Starting Offensive Linemen, a versatile Tight End (Clay), an Elite Superstar Running Back (McCoy) and their Field General (Tyrod Taylor) looks to be as dynamic as ever. A new Balanced scheme will keep defenses on their toes and hopefully confuse secondaries into poor reads that Taylor will be able to pick apart. Look for Shady McCoy to exploit some of this confusion for long gains. The addition of Kirk and Andrews gives the offensive unit the power to stretch the field in a way they have not been able to during the Tyrod Taylor era. Adams and West will be able to capably spell McCoy to give him adequate rest during games which will hopefully prevent thos pesky injuries that has hampered his tenure in Buffalo. There will be no excuses this year for Tyrod in a contract season. He has all the weapons at his disposal to lead us to the promised land. The pressure is on with top pick Sam Darnold waiting in the wings. To say I am excited about our offense this year would be a gigantic understatement!

Defense
Key Additions: Malcolm Butler, CB; Dan Williams, DT; Keishawn Bierria ROLB

Overview:

Year in and year out the defensive unit has continuously carried the team. The addition of Superstar Corner Malcolm Butler will prove to be the biggest addition this year. Anytime you can almost cut the field in half, you're giving your team an enormous advantage. Dan Williams size and run stopping ability will be the perfect compliment to Marcell Dareus' pass rushing capabilities - reminiscent of when Pat Williams clogged the middle for Bills some time ago. No team is perfect and that couldn't be more the case than when talking about this Linebacking corps - Bierria comes in and starts right away at ROLB is an example of how thin the Bills are at outside backer. Preston Brown and Lorenzo Alexander have taken the youngster under their wing and are vigilantly working with him nonstop. The electrifying combo at Safety of Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde might be the two most underrated Safeties in the league. Look for them too continue to produce despite any accolades or notoriety from the national media. This is definitely a hard hat and lunch pale defensive unit and look for them to continue to get the job done. I definitely see a top 10 defense here - they will not disappoint.

Special Teams
Key Additions: Daniel Carlson, K; Christian Kirk (KR/PR)

Overview:

The much anticipated arrival of Kirk from a return game perspective has not disappointed in practice. Look for him to use his speed and athleticism to end up in the top 5 of averages at both kick and punt return yardage. Carlson ended a storied college career with a so-so Senior season. His accuracy is outstanding but he has yet to find the foot to boot in some of those 52 + FG's he was so proficient with in his first 3 years at Auburn. This may be an up and down year for the rookie. I'm told he has all of the support of the coaching staff and his teammates.
