NY Giants Season Preview
A year after the Giants restored their credibility, rekindled their defense and got back to playoffs
after 4 year absence, the trick is to do it again in 2017. Instead of the FA frenzy that transforms
one of the league's worst defenses into one of the best, this time around the NYG franchise focus on
fixing the offense by signing WR Brandon Marshall and drafting TE Evan Engram in the 1st round.

Coach McAdoo's 1st season as head coach produced an 11-5 record and ended with first round playoff
exit at Green Bay. Until NYG can run ball with efficiency and power and hope to keep Manning upright,
matching the 2016 season results remains a lofty goal.

OFFENSE
Coach McAdoo called the plays in 2016 after calling plays as OC in 2015.
NYG offense regressed averaging 19.4 pts/game after averaging 26.2 pts/game
in 2015.

McAdoo runs his version of West Coast offense featuring shotgun snaps, and
quick reads for QB Manning.

DEFENSE
There was an dramatic reversal of fortune for NYG defense in 2016. NYG spent
nearly $200M to rebuild defense.

NYG runs an 4-3 defensive scheme where it requires CBs capable of playing
man-to-man tight coverage.

2017 Summary
The NYG have same defense and better weapons on offense, should be thick of
NFC East race. But dont want to make playoffs -- NYG wants to win games and
make another Super Bowl run.
