MLB 15 The Show Tournament Rules

Seeding

Users will be seeded according to their place on the player rankings leaderboard. Players who have not played a game on the leaderboard will be assumed to be .500 and seeded accordingly.

Team Selection

Any team may be used during the tournament and you may switch teams after each round (no switching of teams during a round). Team selections must be announce in the tournament thread prior to the start of each round. The higher seeded user (#1 is the highest) will pick first and then the lower seed will pick their team. Duplicate teams are not allowed.

Rounds

Each round will consist of a 3-game series. The higher seeded team will host (be at home) for games 1 and 3. The lower seeded user will host (send invite) in game 2.

Games

All game will be played using MLB 15 The Show’s online exhibition feature (All-Star, default settings). The home team submits the game invite (higher seeded user is home for games 1 and 3).

Twitch

All games must be streamed live on Twitch (home team streams). Each user must set their Twitch account to archive their broadcasts (Log in to Twitch > click wrench icon > select “Channel & Videos” > check the box “Automatically archive my broadcasts” > click “Save Changes”

Should a dispute arise, we will look to the archived broadcast to rule. If the broadcast is not archived and you assigned to stream (home team) you will automatically forfeit the game.

Rankings

The result of each game should be submitted to the player rankings leaderboard (log in to px1sports.com > click “Rankings” icon > click “Submit Game Result”). The winner of each game should submit the result immediately after each game. All games should be confirmed as soon as possible after each game (it takes less than 30 seconds to submit or confirm results). NOTE: Please pay attention to submitting and confirming results and ensure all results are submitted accurately.

Disconnects

If a game freezes or disconnects during play, the game must be logged as a dico by submitting the game result and selecting “disconnect”.

If a game freezes or disconnects with a user up by five (5) or more runs, the team in the lead will receive a win for that game in the tournament.

All other freezes or disconnects will be left up to site staff to determine how to proceed since It is impossible to list every possible scenario. Generally, a freeze or disconnect occurring in a game with a lead of four (4) or less will be replayed. The exception being a game that is in the later innings. Site staff will use their best judgment in deciding if a freeze or disconnect could have happened to either prevent a loss or preserve a win. All decisions made by site staff are final.

Connection Test

Each member I the tournament must submit a connection test result before being allowed entry into the tournament. Poor connections will not be allowed as laggy games and disconnects are not fun for anyone.

To submit a connection test result go to this website: http://www.speedtest.net/ and click “Begin Test” (NOTE: do not click “Start Scan”).

PC

When the test is finished click “Share Result”, click “IMAGE” and click “Copy”. Then go back to the forum and reply to the “Connection Test” thread by pasting the result as follows: click the image icon > right-click and select “Paste”> click “Insert” > click “Post Reply”.

Mobile (Phone or Tablet)

Take a screen shot of your result (method varies by device), go to the forum and reply to the “Connection Test” by uploading the screenshot of your test result (reply to the thread and click “Upload File” > select “Choose File” > select your screenshot > choose “Full image” after it has loaded > click “Post Reply”.

Online Issues

While not frequent, playing MLB 15 The Show online can have occasional issues. Sometimes a blip occurs and a fielder drops a ball they shouldn't or a runner is called out or safe when it appears otherwise. This is just a part of playing the game online. Games decided or influenced by these events will not be thrown out or replayed. If this happens to you, remember that you have three games per round and that sometimes bad luck happens in real life.

Game Rules

Starting Pitchers

Each team must use a different starting pitcher for each game of their series. Only pitchers listed as SP can start a game. Rotations reset after each round (meaning you can use your #1 pitcher in game 1 of each round).

Bunting

Excessive bunting is not allowed. You should not bunt with the same player every time he comes up (with the exception of a pitcher assuming he is in a sacrifice situation each time up). You should generally not bunt with multiple players per inning (a rare exception of two sacrifices in one inning would be the only logical exception) or multiple innings per game (with the exception of a pitcher performing a sac bunt).

Fair Play

All tournament participants are expect to play realistic, simulation baseball. Purposely using glitches or otherwise unidentified game exploits will not be allowed. If site staff finds that a user intentionally used a glitch or game exploit in an attempt to win, the offending user could have their result forfeited and be banned from the site completely. All decisions made by site staff are final.
