The mantra for the Rams for the last few seasons has been "Win close games.". they have struggled over the years to accomplish this but for the first half of the season they have been able to do just that. The last three wins for the rams have been won by 3 points or less. Their first two games were lost by decisive margins, 10-49 to the Giants, and 15-36 to the Seahawks. The team knew what they had to build on and they did just that going into their game against the Cowboys.
Rams ran on all cylinders against the Cowboys, Defense was shutting down play after play and the offense was in a groove all game until disaster struck...
Jared Goff made a couple of plays on his feet that day but perhaps he made one too many. he goes down with broken ribs for 6 weeks. a huge. demoralizing blow to this Rams team even after their first win of the season going into the bye.
After the training staff and coaches had a week to decide who would start for the Rams they decided on someone who the NFL all but forget about.. a man picked up by the Rams with no bidding war required... Johnny Manziel.
Johnny Manziel brought a spark to the Rams that the whole organization has not seen in over a decade. he threw 6 TDs to 3 INT in 3 games and had a rushing touchdown, with the help of MobSquad on defense manziel went 3-0 with the rams before giving the job back to Goff.
Todd Gurely went down in the game against the colts and will be gone for a big chunk of the season but the two head back that is Tre Mason and rookie Jacorie Stingily has filled in quite nicely
The injury bug continues to plague this team but they somehow keep adapting, keep bending the odds to win.. the season is half way done but this is only the beginning for this rams team.
