The Lions had a very solid performance overall as they were able to defeat the Raiders 27-3 on the road to move to 8-2 on the season. The defense held the Raiders to 152 total yards and forced 5 turnovers. Once again, Josh Rosen didn't put up great numbers but didn't turn it over and did enough to get the win. The Lions were up 24-0 at the half and basically played a conservative ball-control offense the rest of the way to secure the win.

Week 12: ATL @ TB

The Bucs skid continues as they fall to 6-5 with playoffs on the horizon. Winston played well despite a lack of separation from receivers. Mike Evans stepped up late but the OL could not give Winston the help he needed to lead the team to OT.

Big Takeaways:

  • Tampa Bay's defense played well early but gave up too many big plays and could not keep the ATL offense away from the redzone
  • Doug Martin disappeared after last week, but Guice had a solid day on the ground, this running game should the focal point moving forward with Guice as the lead back
  • Conley disappointed, the FA acquisition is going to need to step up in the future.
  • Don't let the numbers fool ya! While Coleman and Ajayi appeared to have big games on paper, those numbers are inflated due to TB miscues
Key Performances:
  • ATL Offense
    • M. Ryan - 22/35, 238 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, 80.4 QBR
    • T. Coleman - 15 car, 78 yds, 5.2 YPC

Week 11
Jets @ Browns

After a bit of a stumble against Houston, and a good win against the Chargers, the Jets came into Cleveland looking to be aggressive and keep it rolling. It didn't look like it was going to be good when on the first possession Seth Russell got picked off. But after that, the offense came together and put together 3 scoring drives in the first half and 2 in the second and the defense allowed no points in the second half to secure the win. Jets shutdown Browns in the 2nd Half for 27-6 win moving them to 9-1 on the year and tied with the Steelers for best record in the conference.

Key Performers:

All-Star
Week 12
Redskins @ Jets

We got to see a little bit of everything in this one folks. Both teams put together a couple good, long drives and despite those, we saw two very string defensive teams force turnovers and limit yardage. Neither team topped 275 total yards and both were there to win. Kirk Cousins came out firing at first but then sputtered on his way to a 0 td 3 int game. The Jets defense came in and wreaked havoc forcing 4 turnovers and recording 4 sacks. Cousins was in trouble to whole game. In the end, we saw the Jets young signal Caller, Seth Russell, make his first career winning drive and show some unexpected poise after having a less than spectacular game. He delivers a dime in the clutch for the td that would go on to seal the deal. Jets pull out a scrappy, close battle, 27-20 over the gritty Redskins.

Key Performers:

  • Seth Russell: 14/25 213 yards 1 td 1 int
  • Barkley/Scott/Ward combine for a measly 60 yards
  • Curtis Samuel: 5 catches 81 yards 1 td
  • Sheldon Richardson: 8 tackles 2 sacks
  • Tim Williams: 8 tackles 1 tfl 1 sack 1 ff
  • Godwin Igwebuike 4 tackles, 1 int, 1 ff
  • Darron Lee, Tre'Davious White: 1 int each
  • Julian Stanford: Fumble Recovery TD

Week 12: Lions vs Bears

Once again the Lions defense makes up for the struggling offense. The offense is having a very difficult time consistently moving the ball but they are not turning it over like they did early in the year. The game was Lions 7 Bears 3 with 6 seconds left in the half. The Bears had the ball at the 2 with no timeouts left and they made the gutsy decision to run the ball which paid off as they took a 10-7 lead into the half. After each team had the ball once, the Lions defense really turned the game around. After pinning the Bears at their own 1, Whitehead picked off the pass and scored for a 14-10 lead. The Lions put together a solid drive but were held to a FG to go up 17-10. On the next possession, Myles Garrett was unblocked, sacked Stafford and then scooped and scored to go up 24-10. The Lions were able to hold off the Bears comeback and held on for the 34-10 win.

Not so exciting stats:
Josh Rosen - 13-19 133 yds 1 TD 0 INT
Keith Marshall - 15-63 yds 1 TD
Spencer Ware - 8-34 yds
Allen Hurns - 3-40 1 TD
Tahir Whitehead - 2 INTs 1 TD
Myles Garrett - 4 sacks 1 TD

Bears QBs, Cook and Stafford combined for 19-35, 238 yds 0 TDs 3 INTs
Dalvin Cook - 9-48 1 TD
Delanie Walker - 5-71

Week 12

Redskins vs jets

Turnovers was what lead to the demise of the redskins this week. Kirk Cousins throws 3 picks and looses a fumble which resulted in a td for the jets. It was a back and forth game and even with the redskins playing pretty good defense and keeping the jets in check for most of the game the redskins just couldn't pull out the win in the end.

Key performers

  • Kirk Cousins 17-25 224 yards 0 td 3 int 1 fumble lost
  • Casey Veal 6 rushes 41 yards 1 td
  • Jamison Crowder 5 rec 73 yards

Week 13: Vikings 37, Broncos 3

The Vikings defense is finally coming around as a unit and showed up big in this game holding Denver to only 56 yards of total offense. The unit also picked of Broncos QB Payton Lynch twice and recorded 6 sacks. The bad news for the Vikings is that starting QB Teddy Bridgewater went down with a dislocated knee late in the 3rd quarter and wil miss 6 weeks. He should be back for the playoffs but his loss could affect the Vikings seeding for the post season. Rookie QB Austin Allen, fressh off a callup from the practice squad, will get the start next week vs Detroit.

Week 13: CHI @ TB

The struggles in Tampa Bay remain as the Bucs continue in their 3 game skid, falling at home 44-24. Despite some admirable performances and contributions, a lack of consistency and discipline on the defensive side of the ball crippled this team. Winston struggled in decision making and had a costly turnover despite leading the team back into the game at one point. This has become a trend of late for the Bucs in their inability to score despite successful drives. Inconsistent OL play and poor decision making by Winston is to blame.

Key Stats:

  • CHI Offense
    • Connor Cook - 20/26 (76%), 317 yds, 2 TDs, 142.6 QBR
    • Dalvin Cook - 18 car, 169 yds (9.4 AVG), 2 TDs
    • Kevin White - 5 rec, 95 yds, 2 TDs
  • CHI Defense
    • Eric Kendricks - 6 TAK, 2 TFL
    • Cyrus Jones - 5 TAK, 1 INT (Pick 6)
    • Eddie Goldman - 2 TAK, 1 sack
  • TB Offense

    • Derrius Guice - 7 car, 83 yds (11.9 AVG), 1 TD

Hall of Famer
Week 13: SEA @ ATL

The Falcons were impressive once again this week, racking up over 400 yards of offense en route to a 40-21 victory over the Seahawks. Atlanta was in control the entire game, jumping out to a 17-0 lead to start the game, that blossomed into a 34-7 halftime lead. Atlanta would take their foot off the gas in the 2nd half, but comfortably cruised to the win. Atlanta, with the win, improves to 10-2 on the season, which now makes 4 straight 10+ win seasons.

KEY INJURY
  • Star SS Keanu Neal went down with a bad injury the week, and his status for the rest of the season is in doubt.

Top Performers:
  • QB Matt Ryan | 22/33 292 Yards 2 TD 1 INT
