Ravens off-season recap

Youngfuture

Starter
It's almost time for Ravens football and excitement is at an all time high here in Baltimore! With a splash FA signing and a very solid draft expectations are sky high in a division that didn't have a team win over 9 games. With new ownership and coaches this ravens team will barely be recognizable from the one a year ago. Let's recap some highlights to catch everyone up to speed:

-Free Agency
While we mostly just signed guys to fill out the roster and compete for back up jobs, the big impact player we caught this offseason was Kelvin Benjamin! The 6'5 wr will be a vocal point of the passing game and #1 target for a guy we will discuss later....

-Staff Changes
While it was very difficult letting long time head coach John Harbaugh go, changes were needed. Enter coach Paul Sonnier who will be bringing an exciting spread offense to the ravens for the first time in team history! Not forgetting about the defense former raven great Ed Reed will be Defensive coordinator and will employ a suffocating and stout attacking defense that is making the switch to 4-3 this season.

-Rookie Draft
Planning to take a corner or safety with the #7 pick we were astonished to see the #1 guy on our draft board available in Lamar Jackson! With elite speed and a strong arm we had no choice but take him and usher in the future of Ravens football. We decided to bolster a young talented wr core with the selection of speedy wr Antonio Callaway who will complete right away with Artavis scott for the slot position. After that we went all defense for the next 4 picks with Kevin Tolliver and Trey Marshall who we believe were tremendous value for where we got them. Maybe the steal of the draft was Ulysees Gilbert the speedy rolb who could develop into a force next to Cj Mosley!

-Training Camp
With the preseason fast approaching all eyes will be on Lamar Jackson as he looks to show the strides he's made in reading defenses and using his legs as a bonus. Rumbles out of camp is that TE Maxx Williams has had a great offseason and is ready for his new role as the #1 TE. With so many layers to this new offense we expect solid contributions from him and our wr core. Leveon Bell said "This team can be great if we all come together and these young guys follow my lead". We have no worries that the best all-around HB in the league will be ready come game time.
