We are on the verge of the 2nd season with the Carolina Panthers new owner. We believe he made some great offseason moves to really get this Panthers team back to the playoffs. But can these new additions gel with the veterans of this team and play together? Today we are going to preview this team and tell you what we think their chances are this season.
Offense
This offense, at least on paper, looks scary good. With a strong offensive line (all over 80) and great skill players, this team should put up some points. The team took Leonard Fournette with their first pick in the draft. He's a rare physical specimen. Size, speed, and strength makes him one of the top RB's in the league. And with a good line in front of him, he looks like he could be a possible rookie of the year candidate. He also looks like he could take some of the pressure off of Cam Newton. But when Cam does throw, he has some good targets to look for. Veterans like Greg Olsen and Kelvin Benjamin will probably be the top targets for Cam. But the Panthers went after some other players to give Newton some more dynamic players to look for. Rookie Travis Rudolph, Devin Funchess, and Free Agent pick-up Brice Butler all have good size and speed. And they should add to an offense that looks to have one of the best units in the league. They should be fun to watch this season.

The defense was already solid last season against the run. And the front seven stayed the same except for a few pieces added for depth. But the pass defense was another story last season. And that's why the Panthers took Cam Sutton with their 2nd round pick. The Panthers hope he can come in and solidify the secondary. They also added a few Free Agents for depth and to add some youthful playmakers to the secondary. Jaylen Watkins, Cody Riggs, and a good cover linebacker Sio Moore all figure the receive a good amount of playing time this season. These moves should solidify the pass defense this season. And if that's the case, this defense could be hard to move the ball on. And with the strong offense and defense, this team should be hard to handle. We expect this team to contend for the division title and be in the playoffs. But names on paper doesn't win games. They have to come together and play hard. If they do that, nobody should beat this team.
