MUT Salary Cap Ranked - Sim Seasons

Many of you have expressed interest in playing MUT in Madden 17 if you could do so in a simulation setting. The typical online game is what brought most of us here. That play is also keeping many of us from experiencing a mode that can be a lot of fun to play in a sim style format. So, we are announcing simulation seasons for MUT 17 here at PX1 Sports.

The way this will work is similar to seasons in MUT. Each "season" will start with everyone trying to win six (6) games before losing four (4). The first four teams (reserve the right to amend depending on interest) who win six games before losing four will qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs will essentially be a single-elimination tournament with the winner being crowned that season's Super Bowl champion. After the Super Bowl, we will reset with a new season and repeat the process for as long as everyone is interested.

The rules will be a modified version of our VIP league sim rules. We understand this is MUT so we won't be quite as restrictive but we still expect everyone to play within the agreed upon rules and to play a sim style game. We will use the Salary Cap Ranked Play A Friend (MUT > Play Seasons > Play A Friend > Salary Cap Play A Friend) in MUT for each game of our seasons. The Super Bowl winner will be given a 90 overall or better Elite player for their squad. The runner-up will receive an 84 OVR or better Elite player.

All games must be streamed on Twitch. The player rankings system will be used to track each player's progress in the season and to verify they are playing by our sim rules. Players who receive a 3-star rating in a season game (which is verified by a seasons commissioner) will be removed from that season. They will be allowed to return the following season. However, multiple 3-star games (verified by a commissioner) will result in a permanent ban from MUT sim seasons play. Any 2-star or less rating will result in a permanent ban from seasons play.

MUT Sim Seasons Rules

Game Mode: MUT Salary Cap Ranked Play A Friend (you will need to be friends on PSN with each of your opponents)
Quarter Length: 4 mins
Salary Cap: 850

Matchups

You can play against any other user that is signed up for seasons at any time. However, you must have played at least four (4) different users to qualify for the playoffs. You may play the same user more than once or multiple times. If a user is thought to be throwing games to their opponent to help them get into the playoffs, both users will be banned from seasons play and any other events (leagues included) here at PX1 Sports.

Offensive Gameplay
  • Plays are limited to being used one-time per half.
  • QB sneak and FB dive are limited to being used one-time each and only on 1st or 2nd down (Gun or pistol FB runs are not included but are limited per the other play guidelines).
  • Swerve catching is NOT allowed.
  • Goal line is only allowed within you or your opponent's two-yard line.
  • Motion is limited to 25% of your plays or less.
  • You are only allowed to hot route one player per play and that player should be the player you intend to throw to (hot routing players to create openings or glitch the AI is not permitted).
  • Going for it on 4th down is only allowed on 4th and 5 or less once you cross your own 40-yard line.
Defensive Gameplay
  • Teams may blitz up to 50% of their plays (calling a blitz and hot routing or globally changing the assignments still counts as a blitz play).
  • You can hot route defensive players or globally change LB assignments on 25% of your plays at most.
  • Cross man is allowed within the above rules.
  • Run commit is not allowed on any type of zone or base man defense (should be a man blitz)
  • Special teams plays are not allowed for non-kicking plays (ie no field goal block to stop the run).
  • Users must play at least half of their snaps as a non-blitzing linebacker or defensive back.
  • Quarters, Dollar and Dime defenses are only allowed when 3 or more WRs are on the field.
Special Teams Gameplay
  • Manually moving a player into blocking positions on punts and kicks is not allowed.
  • Kicking off out of bounds or near the sideline is not allowed.
  • Only players labeled with the "B" above them while blocking kicks are allowed to be manually controlled.
  • Manually moving your "B" player back and forth before the snap to get an early jump is not allowed.
  • One (1) fake field goal or punt may be used per game.
Twitch

All games must be streamed on Twitch (so they will show up in our streams section). Either user can stream. If a game is not streamed then the result will not count. Please use PX1 MUT Seasons in your game description when streaming.

Player Rankings

All games must be submitted in the player rankings portion of the forum by the winning team within 30 minutes of completion of the game. The losing team must confirm the results within two hours.

Gameplay Rankings Guidelines
  • 5-star - User played a great sim game with only 1-2 minor infractions.
  • 4-star - User played a mostly sim game with a few minor to moderate infractions that may or may not have affected the outcome of the game. This game was possibly slightly annoying and the user giving the rating may have felt slightly cheated.
  • 3-star - This game was a mixture of sim and lobby ball. Several infractions were made that affected the outcome of the game. The game was not very enjoyable for the other user and they very likely feel cheated.
  • 2-star - This game was mostly lobby ball with very few sim elements.
  • 1-star - User ran only one or two plays over and over on both offense and defense.
FAQ

Q: What is swerve catching
A: Manually manipulating your receiver to bump the defender off the route (which should be pass interference in real life).

Q: Why can you not move players on kick returns?
A: This can sometimes be used to exploit the AI.

Q: Why can you only use players with the "B" above them when blocking kicks?
A: There is a glitch that allows them to get through and block kicks at an unrealistically high rate.

Q: Can I tank my o-line?
A: You can use any lineup strategy that you feels gives you the best chance to win within the rules.

Q: Why are there so many rules?
A: Many players enjoy playing Madden in an environment similar to real life football without having to find counters for every over=powered play or AI exploit that is out there.
