The Caged Fighting Alliance wants to have each coach on equal footing when fighting. We do not want to exploit glitches or spam moves that are hard to defend due to AI limitations. Therefore, we have put a few rules in place that each coach should follow when fighting and participating.

Signing Up to Fight

A sign up thread will be posted (generally several days) before each event. Coaches should only post if they are sure that they can commit to that event. A lot of time goes into planning these cards so it is important that guys do not sign up and then withdraw from events. Coaches who do sign up and then withdraw from an event risk being left off of future cards or being removed from the league entirely (at league leadership's discretion).

Preparing for Events

Once the official fight card is posted, all members who have signed up and are participating on the card should read the event thread. You should make note of whether you are assigned to stream the fight and read any other notes listed at the bottom of the fight card post. Coaches should also make sure that they are on the friends list of each coach who they are fighting against in that event so that they can quickly send invites when it is their turn to fight.

Be Ready to Fight

All coaches should show up at least 5 minutes prior to the event starting and be in the PX1 Sports Twitch chat. You should know where each of your fights are on the card and whether you are scheduled to stream and invite. Coaches should pay attention to the card as it progresses and be ready when it is their turn to fight.

Three Round and Five Round Fights

All main event and championship fights will be five (5) rounds unless otherwise notated. All other fights will be three (3) rounds.

Fight Rules

General

All fighters should mix up their strikes, takedowns and clinch attempts in a realistic manner. Spamming of specific strikes or moves over and over will not be allowed or tolerated.

Striking

All fighters should mix up their strikes including punches and kicks. A realistic striking array should utilize both head, body and leg strikes. Combos should be used and fighters should avoid throwing the same strike over and over. Generally, a real life fighter would not throw more than three or four jabs in a row, or more than one or two of the same kick or punch in a row (other than a jab). All fighters should be as diverse as possible in striking and not be repetitive and try to simulate a real life UFC fight as much as possible.

Takedowns

Fighters should be realistic in attempting takedowns. Generally, a real life fighter would try to set up a takedown and try to "catch" their opponent off guard. Occasionally, a fighter may try a "surprise" takedown or try to take their opponent down at the start of a round to be unpredictable. However, takedowns should be mixed in with strikes and other moves and be realistic.

As a reference, Georges St-Pieere is the all-time leader in UFC takedowns. GSP never landed more than 11 takedowns in a fight and only landed more than five takedowns six times in 27 fights (22%). Five of those six were in five round fights. A vast majority of the time, fighters should be only be getting about 4-5 takedowns per fight (or about 6-8 attempts per fights). Fighters may occasionally go over this limit, but "spamming" or abusing takedowns over and overwill not be allowed.

If you are interested in signing up for the CFA, please respond with "Read and Agree" to acknowledge you have read, understand and agree to the rules.
