Green Bay Packers 2017 Draft Recap

Starter
After a bit of a disappointing season, the Green Bay Packers look forward to getting players to help the franchise get back to their winning ways. The draft produce some good players with 1st round pick Christian McCaffrey leading the way with the 13th overall pick. He won't be the only pick to see action early as we recap the draft for the Pack

1st round pick: RB Christian McCaffrey (Stanford)
Projection: Starting RB from day 1. An athlete such as McCaffrey can do a lot things such as line up at wide receiver, line up in the wildcat, line up in the slot, or even spot duty at returner. The Packer intend to make him one of the vocal points on offense after the running game was a bit disappointing last year.

2nd round pick: TE Evan Engram (Ole Miss)
Projection: Backup TE. While he's not the typical in line tight end, Engram can run block for a man his size. His strengths are without a doubt his speed, acceleration, and he can line up in the slot or out wide. For now he's the backup to Richard Rodgers, don't be surprise if he cracks the starting lineup by year 3.

3rd round pick: DE/OLB Demarcus Walker (Florida State)
Projection: Backup OLB. Walker's speed, pursuit, and pass moves translate to the next level, which should make the move to outside linebacker a good move. Playing behind Clay and Nick Perry should give Walker time to translate to 3-4 outside 'backer but will see time in some packages in the Packers defense.

4th round pick: DT Eddie Vanderdoes (UCLA)
Projection: Rotation D-lineman. A huge value pick for the Pack with a division that consist of Jamaal Charles, AP, Royce Freeman, Devin Cook, and Ameer Abdullah. Eddie can push the pile and he can def hold his own in the running game. Playing with former teammate Kenny Clark(who had a good 1st year himself) helps as well as the Pack now have two young guys on the dline for years to come.

5th round pick: RB James Conner (Pitt)
Projection: Backup RB. A man who needs no introduction, whos story of beating Cancer and getting drafted has touch and motivated a lot of people. Conner's combination of speed and power is a nice addition to the team and could be the thunder to McCaffrey's lightning in the future.

6th round pick: WR KD Cannon (Baylor)
Projection: Practice Squad. Speed, Speed, Speed. Cannon was among one the fastest players in the draft, but needs to improve on his route running and a year on the practice squad should help.

7th round pick: FS Trey Tavecchio (UAB)
Projection: Practice Squad. Trey has good speed and hit power for a Free Safety but needs to improve on his coverage skills.
