Diamond Dynasty Buy List - June 8 Update

The market in MLB 15 The Show's Diamond Dynasty mode is becoming very volatile and unpredictable as of late. I no longer believe that buying players hoping that they will go up in value the following week is a sound strategy for making stubs. For that reason, we are changing our format.

From now on, I will be highlighting the players who you can make the easiest stubs with by "flipping". Flipping is a term used most often with buying and selling houses or even cars but is becoming increasingly popular in Diamond Dynasty. The general goal is to put a buy order in on a player who's sell now price is significantly higher, allowing you to "flip" the card quickly for a fast and easy profit.

Flipping is far less volatile than playing the market in DD. It is kind of like day trading for MLB 15 The Show. Typically, you can buy a player and sell them for a profit in as little as an hour or two. Whereas, playing the market (buying players hoping to make a profit when their ratings increase the following week) can leave you sitting on cards for several days (or more) waiting to profit. You also have a reasonably high chance of losing stubs too if new packs are introduced or the player starts to struggle which significantly lowers your player's value.

Diamond Dynasty Buy List - Week of June 8

High Profile Flips (20-50k Stubs)

Miguel Cabrera, DET (99 OVR)

Cabrera June 8.png

Cabrera is a player that you can typically flip for about 4k stubs. As you can see in the chart, his value stays pretty consistent. You can buy Cabrera for 37-39k stubs and flip him pretty easily for 40-44k turning a nice, quick profit.

Andrew McCutchen, PIT (96 OVR)

McCutchen June 8.png

Much like Cabrera, McCutchen's value has stayed very consistent. This make's the Pirates center fielder another safe option for flipping. McCutchen actually sells, on average, for about 5-8k more than his buy orders. So, be sure to compare him and Cabrera if you are just going to flip just one player as "Cutch" might be your better option.

Medium-High Profile Flips (10-20k Stubs)

Craig Kimbrel, SD (94 OVR)

Kimbrel June 8.png

Kimbrel is another player who provides a very nice profit margin at relatively low risk. His profit margins also seem to be increasing. Over the past 10 days, Kimbrel's average margin between his buy now and sell now price has increased from 2,000 to nearly 4,000. This make's Kimbrel an extremely attractive option to flip for quick stubs if you cannot afford Cabrera or McCutchen.

Adam Wainwright, STL (93 OVR)

Wainwright June 8.png

All-Star starting pitchers are a good way to go when flipping cards as they generally stay around the same buy and sell prices. Wainwright is one of the most consistent. The Cardinals righty can typically be picked up for around 11,500 stubs and sold for 13-15k. Wainwright is another great option for guys with less than 20,000 stubs who want to increase their bankroll quickly.

Medium Profile Flips (5k- 10k Stubs)

Greg Holland, KC (90 OVR)

The lower you go in value, the higher the volatility in prices. However, Holland gives you a safe option with some very good upside. While Holland's buy value has increased by nearly 2k over the past 10 days, it has stayed consistent over the past week. The great thing about Holland, though, is that his sell value fluctuates between 1,500 and 3,000 stubs more than his buy value making him a great value for under 10k stubs.

Hunter Pence, SF (87 OVR)

Pence is a great, safe option in this price range. While his margin generally stays around 1,000-1,500 stubs, his value has stayed extremely consistent over the past 10 days. With a typical buy price of around 7k and a sell now price around 8k, Pence is a great guy to use to add stubs to your Diamond Dynasty bankroll.

Low Profile Flips (1k-5k Stubs)

Manny Machado, BAL (86 OVR)

It is extremely rare to find a player in this price range who is both consistent and provides a nice margin. Machado is one of those players though. Over the past 10 days, Machado's buy price has averaged around 1,900 while his sell now price has been typically 2,400-2,600. You are going to work with smaller margins in this price range. However, finding a guy that you can consistently flip for 500+ stubs will help you get to the next level that much quicker.

Bargain Basement Flips (Under 1k Stubs)

Yan Gomes, CLE (84 OVR)

Getting anywhere near a 300 stub profit on bargain basement guys is a rarity. Gomes, though, is one of the outliers. Although his value has dropped about 200 stubs over the past 10 days, his margin has held consistently around 300 stubs. If you can pick Gomes up for around 500-550 stubs you should be able to turn around and sell him right away for about 800. This provides HUGE value for guys with limited stubs who want to build their bankrolls quickly.

Michael Cuddyer, NYM (84 OVR)

Cuddyer was thought by many to be getting a bump to Gold last week, so his value went up to over 1,000 stubs on the sell now market. It is unlikely that he is going to make the jump to Gold now so his value has come down to the 500 stub range. Over the past three days, you have been able to pick Cuddyer up for around 400 stubs while turning around and selling him for 650-700. Again, anywhere close to a 75% profit margin is HUGE at this level. So look to buy and sell Cuddyer quickly and frequently while building your bankroll.

Keep in mind that trying to buy and sell cards in the Diamond Dynasty market for profit is risky. Although the player's listed in this post are among the most consistent on the market, things can fluctuate day-to-day and hour-to-hour. You won't make your expected margin every time. You might, in rare scenarios, even lose stubs a couple times while applying this method. However, if you stick to the players on this list you significantly reduce your risk. It is also a good idea to check out Daddy Leagues Diamond Dynasty page to check a player's value before trying to flip them. This will give you an idea of what the player has been selling for (go to the player's individual page and look at the chart) and whether you can expect to make a profit from him. As long as you are buying the player near his average buy now price, you should be able to sell him for a profit and increase your stubs bankroll in the process.
