2019 Season Preview

All-Star
We drafted some guys. 1st round draft pick Chris Goings at Left Tackle joins Cam Robinson on the Offensive line. However Goings will be moved to Right Tackle to back up Austin Howard. Howard's contract is up there and if Goings shows enough promise, the team may end up dealing Howard.

Last year's horrid run game (virtually non-existent) is now lead by Melvin Gordon. Chris Ivory was not resigned, but Kadem Carey and Deandre Washington return. Carey will serve as the #3 while Washington is in charge of kick return duties. That leaves the question of who is #2? In the third round the Raiders selected HB Allen McNeal.

HB Allen McNeal showed great promise in the preseason. Some speculated if he would take over recently signed Melvin Gordon's starting job. In the third preseason game McNeal tore his shoulder while trucking an opponent and is due to miss time until week 4. Many speculate this sealed Washington and Carey's rolls on the squad. Their status on the team is anyone's guess after week 4.

The rest of the team remains intact in the mean time. Carr is under center, Cooper and Crabby are performing well with Seth Roberts helping out. Andre Holmes was cut and during the offseason veteran TE Greg Olsen was brought in.

The explosive defense form last year remains mostly the same. If injuries can be avoided (they plagued the team last year on defense) this should remain top defense. The goal is to get the offense sparked. The lack of a run game last year really hurt the ability to throw the ball. When throwing the ball is your only option it can be tough to get down the field.

Let's hope all turns out well this year. Onward!
