HERE WE GO!!!

Last time we visited with you it was to go over the ownership change in Pittsburgh and to look ahead to the off-season. Today we revisit what happened and what to look for in the upcoming 2019 season!

Key Offseason Additions:

- OLB Aaron Lynch
- LG Joe Dahl
- LE Earl Telfer(1st Round Pick)
- OLB Ferrell Thierry (2nd Round Pick)
- CB Markus Alexis (3rd Round Pick)
- P Ryan Allen
- MLB Jeremy Cash
- MLB James McFarland
- WR Ty Montgomery
- MLB Khairi Fortt

Key Offseason Departures

- TE Ledarius Green
- LG Ramon Foster
- RT Marcus Gilbert
- WR Sammie Coates

Obviously for the team the main focus was on upgrading a little bit of weak defense especially at the LB position. This lead the team to spend big in FA and go out and land one of the best pass rushers on the market in recent seasons in Aaron Lynch. Lynch received a 4 yr/30 million dollar deal to come to Pittsburgh from San Francisco where last year he tallied 7 Sacks and 23 solo tackles. They partnered him with 2nd Round Pick Ferrell Thierry to complete the upgrades at OLB to help set the edge of defense and shore up the pass rush! To go along with Thierry, the 1st round pick was spent on another starter on defense LE Earl Telfer. Team Owner Phillip Wombacher said, "We were able to key in on guys in our first 3 rounds to land some solid starting options and depth at otherwise weak positions for us!"

Looking ahead to the 2019 season its clear that team focused on improving the defense and look to challenge for the AFC North title, in arguably one of the toughest divisions which saw 3 10+ Wins teams from last year.
