Owner- Fred Taylor

Seeing the popularity of the jags growing Jaguar legend Fred Taylor picked the perfect time to purchase the team from Mr Khan and add a new flavor to the new look jags! Promising the fans that their team will not be leaving Jacksonville the fan base is an energetic as ever for this season! Looking to make the playoffs for the 1st time since 2007 optimism is high as the season gets set to begin

Offensive scheme and playbook- After some scrimmages and practice we feel we have the personnel for a true Balanced attack in Jacksonville and will be using the DEN playbook this upcoming season. With 2 playmakers on the outside, 2 capable rbs, and a Qb on the rise our style can adapt to whatever looks the defense shows us.

Defensive scheme and playbook- With a lot of speed and youth on defense we will be running an Attacking 4-3 defense and using the MIN playbook. Looking to keep the offense guessing we will be mixing up coverages often while throwing in some blitzes as well depending on how much pressure our front 4 can create.

Season 1 preview - QB

Projected Depth Chart
1. Blake Bortles(82 ovr)
2. Chad Henne (69 ovr)
3. Brandon Allen (65 ovr)

After a rough rookie season Blake Bortles aka "Bortles kombat" bounced back nicely with over 4400 yds and 35 tds last season! No qb controversy here as the Jags seemed to have found their franchise quarterback and finally look like they have solidified the most important position in the league. With a strong arm and improved accuracy Bortles looks poised for another impressive season with hopefully an improved running game to help set up the playaction.

Season 1 Preview - HB

Projected Depth Chart
1. Tj Yeldon (80 ovr)

2. Chris Ivory (82 ovr)
3. Denard Robinson (73 ovr)

With the arrival of Chris Ivory this off-season from the Jets, the rb competition expects to be one of the most competitive at this years camp! After a so-so rookie campaign TJ seems to have spent the off-season working on his footwork and pass protection. Knowing we have 2 capable backs the Jags are not against having a 50/50 split between them especially with an increased focus on the running game. But Robinson's change of pace and pass catching ability definitely will not be overlooked and we will find packages to get him on the field!

Season 1 Preview - WR

Projected Depth Chart
1. Allen Robinson(88 ovr)
2. Allen Hurns(85 ovr)

3. Marqise Lee(71 ovr)
4. Rashad Greene(70 ovr)
5. Bryan Walters(70 ovr)

Led by the "A-team" the Jags boast maybe the most exciting young wr core in the league! With Robinson becoming a legitimate top 15 wr in the league and Hurns becoming one of the most successful undrafted players ever in his 1st 2 seasons excitement abounds surrounding these two! The key position battle here will be for the slot wr between Lee and Greene. A key position considering the attention the Allen boys will draw.

Season 1 Preview - TE

Projected Depth Chart
1. Julius Thomas(83 ovr)

2. Marcedes Lewis(76 ovr)
3. Nic Jacobs(71 ovr)

High expectations after coming over from Denver, Julius Thomas had a rough year battling injuries but after an off-season spent in rehab and slimming down Thomas claims to be in the best shape of his life! Which is good news to the coaches who want to get him more involved in the offense and help remind the league of the weapon he's capable of being. Lewis remains as the back up te and will help with run blocking.

Season 1 Preview - O-Line

Projected Depth Chart
1. LT Kelvin Beachum(82 ovr)
2. LG Mackenzy Bernadeau(74 ovr)
3. C Brandon Linder(76 ovr)
4. RG Luke Bowanko(76 ovr)
5. RT Luke Joeckel(79 ovr) , Jeremy Parnell(77 ovr)

A couple question marks exist on the o-line, mainly the battle at the RT position between Parnell and Joeckel. This may be Joeckel's last chance to prove he was worth that 1st rd pick back in 2013 but will have to beat out savvy veteran Parnell. If this unit can mesh it will go a long way into what kind of success the Jags can have this year. But with Watt and Casey in the division on their respected teams, this unit will definitely be tested

Season 1 Preview - D line

Projected Depth Chart
1. RE Jared Odrick(78 ovr)
2. DT Malik Jackson(86 ovr)
3. DT Sen'derrick Marks(78 ovr)
4. LE Dante Fowler JR(77 ovr)

Bolstered by the free agent acquisition of Malik Jackson and the return of our #1 pick in last years draft Dante Fowler, the Jags look to improve a pass rush that was mediocre at best last year. Hoping to become more than just a pass rush specialist Dante has spent the off-season getting stronger so he can get off blocks and play the run more effectively. Malik looks to bring his super bowl prowess to Jacksonville and anchor this d line!

Season 1 Preview - Linebackers

Projected Depth Chart
1. LOLB Telvin Smith(80 ovr)
2. MLB Paul Posluszny(78 ovr)
3. ROLB Dan Skuta(79 ovr)
*Wildcard Myles Jack(73 ovr)

With Telvin Smith as maybe the fastest linebacker in football the Jags possess at least 1 player who can run sideline to sideline. Veterans Paul and Dan anchor the group with high football IQ and passion for the sport. The true wildcard will be rookie MLB Myles Jack who is talented enough to see the field but must show doctors and coaches that he is 100% healed and ready to go. If he can contribute that would be a nice boost to this solid core.

Season 1 Preview - Secondary

Projected Depth Chart- Corners
1. Prince Amukamara(81 ovr)
2. Jalen Ramsey(82 ovr)
3. Aaron Colvin(78 ovr)
4. Davon House(78 ovr)

Projected Depth Chart- Safeties
1. FS Tashaun Gipson(77 ovr)
2. SS Jonathan Cyprien(76 ovr)

Probably the deepest position on the team, the secondary should definitely be a bright spot for the Jags. Prince and Tashaun come over from FA while #1 pick Jalen Ramsey grades out as the highest rated rookie to start this season. With impact players all around the key position battle here comes down to the "nickel db" between Colvin and House. In the pass happy Nfl nowadays tho, you can never have too many good corners!

Week 1
jaguars_vs_packers.jpg

After a preseason that was spent not showing our hand, the Jags headed into the regular season a bit under the radar and started the season with a bang!

DEFENSE:
With Aaron Rodgers and the explosive Packers coming to town we knew our young defense would be tested. But man did they rise to the occasion forcing 4 turnovers, 4 sacks, and holding the packers to 151 yds of offense. Knowing Rodgers is one of the best Qbs in the league we knew we had to make him uncomfortable in the pocket and the defense did an excellent job of that.

Offense:
Still learning the new system put in place here in Jacksonville the main focus was to keep turnovers to a minimum and convert 3rd downs and both were a positive in this game. Bortles Kombat controlled the game going 15/21 for 250 yds and 2 tds with 0 ints but did have 1 fumble. Even with the unfortunate injury to TJ yeldon the running game was effective with both Ivory and Yeldon showing flashes. Oh and AR15 picked up where he left off last year with 110 yds and 2 tds

Bottom line:
It's a long season but a win to start the year feels good especially against a quality team. Still a lot of work left to be done if we want to achieve great things!

Studs of the week: Dante Fowler(2.5 sacks and a ff) Tashaun Gipson(3 tackles, 2 ints) Blake Bortles(250 yds 2tds 0 ints)

Duds of the week: Luke Joeckel( 2 sacks allowed) Jason myers(2/4 fgs, 2/3 xp)

Look ahead to next week: San Diego Chargers(1-0) Impressive offensive display in week 1 putting up 39 points and Rivers throwing for over 300 yds. Defense extremely disciplined and opportunistic. Gonna be a long week of preparation...

Week 2
San-Diego-at-Jacksonville.jpg

After an impressive home debut against the packers, the Jags hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Chargers!

Defense:
Out to prove that week 1 wasn't a fluke, the Jags d continued to play with a chip on there shoulder. Knowing the challenge the crafty veteran Rivers would provide, we felt our front 4 would have an advantage over the San Diego o line. Forcing 7 turnovers and multiple sacks and qb hurries the Jags d line or as we call them the "Feast Squad" is quickly becoming a force in the league. Rookie mlb Myles Jack turned in another solid performance as he takes control of the defense.

Offense:
Missing starting rb Tj yeldon, Chris Ivory did more than enough to keep the chains moving and the defense honest. Nothing spectacular but a solid day of power running and making sure we stayed out of 3rd and long. Blake bortles continued his hot start to the season although he did have his first int which cost us points. The big story today was the breakout game for Julius Thomas who went over the 100yd mark for the first time as a jaguar! Also great performance by the o line allowing 0 sacks today.

Bottom line:
At 2-0 the Jags have come out the gate fast and must keep this momentum going to start the season!

Studs of the week:
Julius Thomas, defensive line, offensive line

Duds of the week:
Jason myers, Allen hurns(stopped on route that led to pick 6)

Look ahead to next week:
The Jags head back home to face the Baltimore Ravens(1-1) who come off a tough 38-28 loss to the Cleveland browns. We expect to get a focussed and prepared team as they look to bounce back and hand us our first loss

Week 3
dm_141210_JACBAL.jpg

Looking to keep the hot start going the jags welcomed joe flacco and the Baltimore Ravens to town.....

Defense:
The defense has played outta their mind to start this season and today was more of the same! Already leading the league in takeaways the jags added 8 more in this game including 6 ints! After a strong week of practice Dante Fowler had his coming out party and put the league on notice as to why he is one of the best young pass rushers in the league with a career high 4 sacks! The "Feast Squad" is definitely taking the league by storm!

Offense:
Not a great day offensively for the jags as it was tough to find a rhythm against that tough ravens d. Ivory struggled tremendously averaging just 2.3 ypc and only had 48 yds on the day. Bortles continued his steady play with 262 yds and 3 tds while completing 70% of his passes but also had 2 bad ints that will need to be corrected if the jags wanna compete deep into the season. Another bright spot was the arrival of Allen Hurns finally after a slow start to the year!

Bottom line:
At the 3-0 the jags sit atop the AFC south and can end the first quarter of the year undefeated with a win next week at home vs the colts.

Studs of the week:
Luke Joeckel (0 sacks allowed) Dante Fowler(7 tackles, 4 sacks, 1FF) Jonathan Cyprein (2ints)

Duds of the week:
Jason Myers (1/3 xp) Chris Ivory (2.3 ypc)

Look ahead to next week:
The Jags welcome Mr. Luck and the Colts (0-3) to Jacksonville for our first divisional game of the year! Even without a win on the year we know how dangerous Luck can be and will be extremely focused to show him why we have a top 3 defense in the league!

Bye week Blues

The Jacksonville Jaguars head into our bye week at 4-0 and one of the pleasant surprises in the NFL. With a top ten offense and defense there is real excitement building in the city that the playoff drought may finally end this season. Owner Fred Taylor made sure to put those discussions to rest early as the Jags continue to attack this season 1 week at a time. While we will rest and recover as we prepare for the 12 week gaunlet upcoming, we unfortunately will be without some key players for the next 4 weeks. Thomas, Colvin, and Gipson will be recovering from minor injuries but we will welcome back starting hb TJ Yeldon who was injured in week 1! Safe travels to Chicago upcoming!

Week 6
JAX-JAGUARS-vs.-CHI-BEARS.jpg

Coming off a must needed bye week the Jags headed to the windy city to face off with the Monsters of the midway...

Defense:
The Jags highly talked about defense continued their stellar play with another strong performance. Although the "Feast Squad" had the first game of the season without a sack they made life tough on Mr Cutler forcing him into 3 ints and allowing only 42% completion percentage the secondary played well while missing 2 starters. Run D will need to be addressed tho as they gave up 4.5 yds a carry but did hold another opponent under 100 yds.

Offense:
Welcome back TJ! Playing his first game back since week 1, yeldon picked up right where he left off scoring 2 tds and averaging 5.6 ypc. Ivory still got his touches as we ease tj back into the lineup with our split backfield. Blake played well yet again controlling the game and limiting mistakes with 4tds and only 1 int. Nice performance from the o line allowing only 1 sack against one of the better pass rushes in the league.

Bottom line:
At 5-0 things seem to be going well for the Jags but as history showed us last year with the Falcons, things can change quickly in the NFL. We must continue our one week at a time approach and improve each week.

Studs of the week:
Bortles(4tds), Yeldon(2tds coming off injury), Telvin and Myles(7 tackles each and 1 int each)

Duds of the week:
Front 7 gap containment, Niles Paul(drops)

Look ahead to next week:
After 3 weeks away from home the Jags return and welcome Derek Carr and the high scoring raiders to town. With 2 of the top afc teams on the field should be a great matchup! Tune into twitch tv for the action!

Week 8
colorrush-600-091216.jpg

"Color Rush" division match up was a Thursday night thriller!

Defense:
The Cpu was a handful for us this week as we gave up a season high 454 yds on offense including 115 on the ground to Demarco murray. Mariota had an efficient day as well throwing for 296 yds and a td. But we stepped up when it mattered most including 2 huge stops in the 4th qtr and a great game for backup safety josh evans who had a game high 9 tackles!

Offense:
Couldn't have a had a more disastrous start to a game then we had with multiple 3 and outs. Only 3 points thru 3 qtrs had us frustrated beyond belief. But Blake Bortles continues his mvp campaign with a furious 4th qtr rally that included 3 td passes! Definitely a signature moment for the 3rd year qb, a road come from behind division win to keep the dream season alive.

Bottom line:
The Jags remain undefeated and atop the afc at 7-0 and look to continue our winning ways at hostile Kansas city next week

Studs of the week:
Blake Bortles(3tds in the 4th qtr), Josh evans (game high 9 tackles) Jalen Ramsey (9 tackles)

Duds of the week:
Defensive line (run d, gap containment), Jason myers (missed another fg)

Look ahead to next week:
Your Jaguars will be on the road to take on the always tough Kansas city chiefs(4-3) on the road. Should be another tough day at the office...

Week 10
Jacksonville-at-Houston.jpg

Divisional match up with the hated texans...

Defense:
Not a great day for the defense as we were in bend but don't break mode the entire game and really never made Brock feel our presence. Houston did an outstanding job of putting there qb in position to succeed. Run d was top notch as we held the always dangerous lamar miller to under 50 yds rushing. The "feast squad" did have 3 sacks but didn't force any ints and brock still completed 75% of his passes while throwing for 300 yds.

Offense:
Not much to criticize on the offensive end other than a poor decision here or there. Blake continued his stellar play with another 300 yd game as the running game was shut down by mr watt and company. The A-team continue to be match up nightmares for defenses as its pick your poison with these two.

Bottom line:
The Jags suffered our first defeat of the year ending the dream season and taking the pressure off trying to go undefeated. No loss is a good loss but this should make it easier for coach Bradley to focus his team for the upcoming playoff run.

Studs of the week:
Blake Bortles, the A-team, malik jackson

Duds of the week:
The rbs, secondary

Look ahead to next week:
After a quick bounce back 34-21 win over the lions(this recap is a week late haha) your jags (9-1) head to Buffalo to face the bills(3-6-1) where we look to keep our perfect road record!
